It is our goal to have every individual who attends the Beach Reach South Padre Island Mission Trip to get a Church Endorsement. The reason for this is that the Baptist Student Ministry is not a separate organization, but rather a part of the ministry through the cooperative program. Thus, we cannot send students on a mission project apart from the support of their church. You may wish to commission them during a special service prior to the trip, although this is not necessary.
We will be doing several different activities on this mission project. We will primarily be sharing the gospel through Free Breakfast, Sunscreen Distribution, Midnight Breakfast, Beach and Street Witnessing during the day and evening. We will also be providing a Crisis Hotline to help those who are too drunk to drive and to those who have special needs. In years past we were able to share the gospel with over 10,000 students and see 200 people come to know Jesus as their Savior.
Each student will be trained to share the Gospel at a special five-week evangelism training session which includes hands on evangelism as part of the training. They will also be required to memorize Scripture, enlist two prayer partners for each day they are on the trip, and participate in 30 days of prayer prior to the trip. Please view our web site www.beachreach.org for information on the training material, the various ministries, and a list of the 30 days of prayer concerns.
Some students may ask permission to approach Sunday School classes and individual church members to help them financially and prayerfully. If this is a problem, especially the financial aspect, please let the student know not to seek financial assistance in the church. Please prayerfully help us send every student who the Lord has called to go.
If you have any questions please feel free to contact us through e-mail at email@example.com by phone or in person. Thank you for your support.
